Shahal, Moshe
(1934- )
   Veteran Israel Labor Party activist and former member of the Knesset. Born in Iraq on 20 May 1934, he studied at Haifa University and graduated from the law faculty of Tel Aviv University. A lawyer by profession, he was a member of the Knesset since 1969 on the Labor-Alignment list. He became minister of energy and infrastructure in 1984 and retained that post in the government established in December 1988. He served as internal security minister in the Labor-led coalition of 1992-96 and was re-elected to the Knesset on the Labor list in 1996. He did not seek reelection to the Knesset in 1999.
